I was a lay reader at church today. We are assigned the reading based on the lectionary, who is reading, and chance. My reading?
In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth, the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
How perfect that I read the creation story (hence the title of the blog) the Sunday after finding out that Wesley and I are creating a new life. Not only this, but today there was a baptism of a beautiful little boy- yes, I wept. And yes, I'm super emotional these days.
The final thing for me to over analyze and see as a sign that this pregnancy is as perfect and wonderful as I believe it is? I went to receive communion at the rail today and unintentionally ended up getting two servings of bread instead of one. A silly, small thing- but encouraging and joyful nonetheless.
I am delighted to see that you have this blog. It's almost as good as being there!
